ok, here the pics of my mindmachine

okay... maybe i write one post where i explain how i built it, but that later^^
my holidays are over and me and my friends already have a new project...

Mindmachine

Because I have holidays and then i'm more bored as in school i met with some friends and did the best of our projects.
One project we did was the mindmachine...

Here is my partlist, pics will follow:
- sunglasses
- 2 leds
- some tape
- a little piece board ( don't rally know how it's called in english)
- 2batteries
- 1micrcontroller, attiny 2313
- 2 resistors, 100ohm
- 2 resistors, 1k
- 1 jack plug
- 2 capacitors, 1µF
- about 2 meter cable
- some cable ties

optional (for me):
- 1 switch
- 1 µc holder
- 1 battery holder (for 2 batteries)

because of beeing a nerd i have a evaluationboard to program the µc's so i could leave out the half of the circuit
the whole project is here: makezine
it was a more or less unplanned by me, and the one who planned it has forgotten the half of the parts but that was no problem for me because i'm good in improvising and i have the evaluationboard xD

as i said, pictures will follow...

pictures of the telescope

here are the pictures:

the complete telescope
...from the side...

my self built connector

the ocular

maybe i will take some pictures though the telescope to show it's quality - but later, in the next time i want to concentrate on my other projects

it's done!

well... i would say.... it's done !

i installed a dew shield on my telescope - and the result was amazing !
it's still a bit blurred but much better...
i think the blurry is because of the lens - my optician said that and it's okay, maybe i buy a better lens...
however, the picture is better than i thought xD

pictures of the finished telescope will follow

new lens

i took the lens from my other telescope into my self-built telescope , i had to improve because the other lens has a lower focal length (700mm) -  the lens for MY telescope about 1330mm so i had to put the lens INTO the tubus - the result was clear, the picture was sharp... i can see two possibilities: the first is the lens isn't good enough, the second is that to much light is shining into my telescope so i have to change it.
i hope that the second possibility is right, i will consider that^^

news from the telescope

today i asked the optician why i can't really focus (the picture is always blurred).. -.-

he said it could be caused in my lens (i bought a cheap one) or in my apertures but i think it's all right
then, today in the afternoon i had the idea to switch the lens of my self-made telescope with the one of my other telescope.... when the picture is sharp(er) it's caused by the lens and i need a better one, if not... then i need a new, better idea and to read more wikipedia - i hope it's the lens xD

telescope...

okay... i disassembled the telescope and adjusted the lens and the second part (the part on the left side of the tape with the pipesystem for the ocular) and fixed it with glue - its senseless to upload new pictures, the difference is only about 1 cm and can't be seen on the picture. now its completly straight - and the picture is still blurred...

i also installed two apertures, but its just a bit better...
i begin to think, that the lens from the optician is the problem, because its not a a semi convex lens, but a concav convex lens or a meniscus... maybe thats the reason, maybe i'm just not precise enough... however... tomorrow  ( today by now) i want to go to the optician were i bought the lens, maybe he can tell me more...

Telescope pictures

here the pictures:

the whole telescope

in my first version i built it with tape.
the main problem is that the tubes have to be straight otherwise the picture is blurred, as i had to realize.. - i'm working on that...

pipe clamp
with the pipe clamp i can mount the telescope on the tripod
- theoretically - i have to build an adapter for my tripod.

pipe system to adjust the ocular

the only thing that is working really good is the pipe system...
it is made out of two pipes that i can push into each other so i can use more oculars with different docal lenght

ocular
i can switch the ocular by putting it into the pipe - later i want to buy this ring, stick it on the pipe and fix the oculars with screws.

Telescope

okay...
since a view weeks i am thinking if i should build a telescope
a couple of days ago i started with the project and now my first telescope is done xD
i say my first because normally i construct more then one.
i think i should begin with the list of components:
- 1 optical lens (8,75€)
- 1 big tube for the lens (3,99€)
- 1 small for the ocular (1,99€)
- 1 connector (1,50€)
- 1 transmission tube (1,50€)
- at least one ocular (ca 20€), i have 4 because i already have a telescope
- acrylic paint (2,99€)

optional:
- one tripod for the telescope (about 25€) (i already have one, too)
- one pipe clamp to attach the telescope to the tripod (2,65€)
- some stuff lying arround (glue, screws, etc.)

i payed about 25€ for my telescope - and it works!

during the next posts i will upload som pictures and describe how i assembled it

binary clock

the first project i wantes to show you is a binary clock
here are some pics of my first version of which i finished the hardware:

sorry for the bad quality...
the writings are "stunde", "minute", "sekunde" - hour, minute, second

i am doing the project with one of my friends and he is responsible for the software...
however, the software doesn't work at the time^^

to control the multiplexing ( that is needed to display the time - a 3*6 matrix, 18 needed outputs - the controller i used does only have 14 outputs) i made much shit on the back - in version 2 i leaved it out^^

i will post more when the software is working...
